NHAI Board approves Investment Proposal for 3 BOT Projects
under NHDP Phase-III A.
As decided by the Government of India, the National Highways Authority of
India (NHAI) is moving ahead in implementing NHDP Phase-III on Public Private
Partnership (PPP) mode using Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Model. The 4/6-
laning of 4000 km of National Highways on BOT basis under NHDP Phase-III A
was approved by the Government in March 2005 at an estimated cost of Rs
22,000 crores (as per 2004 prices).
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in its 64th Board Meeting held
on 04th July 2007, accorded investment approval for Design, Engineering,
Finance, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of three Projects on BOT
basis. The projects fall in the state of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh & Haryana and are
a part of NHDP Phase-IIIA.

The above projects will have adequate provisions for construction of ROBs,
Bridges, Flyovers, Service Roads, Wayside Amenities, Truck Parking, Bus Bays
etc.
The concession period would be 18 years (including construction). PPPAC has
already accorded its approval for these projects in January this year. |
