NHDP Phase–III on Fast Track.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) today signed the Concession Agreement
for two Projects in Karnataka on Build Operate & Transfer (BOT) basis under National
Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase III.
The Agreement was signed this afternoon by NHAI in the presence of Shri Pradeep
Kumar, Chairman NHAI with M/s. Lanco Hoskote Highway Pvt. Ltd. & M/s Lanco
Devihalli Highways Pvt. Ltd. ( SPV formed by M/s Lanco Kondapalli Power Pvt. Ltd) for
the two Projects in Karnataka (i) 4laning of Bangalore-Hoskote-Mulbagal section of NH-4
(km. 237/700 to km.318/000) & (ii) 4laning of Neelamangla – Devihalli section of NH-48
(km.28/200 to km.110/000) respectively.
The project involves six laning of 16 km. of the existing NH between K R Puram and
Hoskote with four laning of the remaining reaches.
The combined length and the total project cost of the two stretches are 160 km and Rs.1006
Crore respectively. The Concession Periods are 20 and 25 years respectively which includes
30 months construction period.
As is known, the Government has approved upgradation and four-laning of 12,109 km.
length of National Highways on BOT basis under NHDP Phase-III at an estimated cost
of Rs.80626 Crore. Of this, 30 Projects costing Rs.11,627/- Crores covering 1,941 km
have already been awarded. Another 3,000 km. are proposed to be awarded during the
current financial year. The remaining length will be awarded in a phased manner
before March,2010.
