The site
The site is a valuable resource for the designer and constructor. The site includes information on:
- Advantages of time and money – comparisons and advantages of using WWR over conventional rebar.
- Studies that compare WWR to reinforcing steel.
- A project case study and structural engineer testimony are presented in streaming video.
- A section that describes the varied uses.
- Designer Resources – includes applicable codes and standards, sample specifications, mat sizing and configuration options, splicing requirements, design examples for foundation elements and a one-way structural slab, and other appropriate design information.
- Construction Resources – includes information on field practices, shop drawings, placing plans, storage, handling and lifting, and support accessories. Two tools for calculating mat weight and installed cost are provided.
- Example projects – examples of tilt-up wall panels, box culverts, and highway barrier
walls are described through movies.
- FAQ's – frequently asked questions.
- References - Appropriate industry references.
The website utilizes numerous tables, graphs, charts, images, animations, videos and voice narrations to bring clarity and interactivity to understanding the many facets of WWR.
